metaverse

Recently … that is, actually some time ago, but I was rather busy so I could not post about it, LL has released some new metrics about the status of SL and the economy on the grid:

Can it be, that the Metaverse is being created while we are stuck in Second Life? Can it be, that the virtual world is being build around this place, that, while still being in the lead, becomes something of a big dinosaur unable to see the world changing around it towards a new balance that would not include a possibility for it to exist? Can it be, that we are blinded by SL and does not see, that the world changes and evolves into a model, where openness is the key to growth and success?

So it happened! Philip announced when the meeting will happen and while it seems like they indeed have realized that they have to prevent the usual screaming competition it left me with what I usually describe as a 'oO'-moment. But read yourself and don't leave the comments below out since they sum up a lot of what the concerns of the residents are and show the points that are being criticised:
