WOOT \o/ We had a party!

 

That is a nice opening for a blog post for once and definitively something different then the previous posts about 'Emerald-Gate' and whatever will follow up on it because of the ongoing transition towards the new marketplace (accompanied by a large amount of JIRAs), the grid merge and the display name introduction.

This Saturday, the 9th of May, the SL Democratic Movement (slDM) will throw a big party and you are invited. The slDM is a group of residents campaigning to further and enable User rights and User governance (selfrule) in the Second Life world and this party is partly in light of the recently announced changes in Adult Content policy (for more info about slDM check our website and the FAQ/goals document: http://sldemocraticmovement.org/faq ).

In the membership meeting of 26Oct08 we decided on having a regular SLDM Music Event: Saturdays, 10 am SLT to 12 pm SLT, at our Club at the HQs.

At the 9Nov08 meeting we discussed the idea of having a Organizing Team around these events and thought this might be a good thing to do. A team that makes sure we have an artist or artists for each week's event, a team that is first contact for Music Event related information, a team that thinks about special themes and other things to dress up the events, a team that manages our Club, basically.
