Idea: SLDM Residence

I had this idea about creating on or next to the SLDM HQs a residential area; that is, some construction/building consisting out of appartments with a certain prim-allowance for groupmembers to use as their 'home'. You don't need a home in SL of course, but it's pretty clear many people want one :)

We discussed this idea at our last membership meeting and initial feeling is that it might be a good idea. Several reasons stated why it could be a good thing are

1. building a community-feeling around SLDM and bring more life to the HQs

2. to "practice what we preach" in a broader sense, eg a selfmanaged, democratic community

3. to help in making SLDM a selfsustaining organisation/community (we would have to rent out the appartments)

4. provide a place for people

When we do this, we need to get some more land ... this because prims are connected to sq meters. This is not really a problem, financial wise, but it would be a waste when it will be spend in vain.

So, what we want to ask is would there be interest in this by you. That is, when we would have a residential area at the SLDM HQs, would you consider renting an appartment there?

Lets discuss this further here as well...I am sure questions will arise and some problems found...
