Dear friends, Firstly, my excuses I didn't contact you earlier through the website. As you know, I am very busy in RL - so much lately that every free moment I'm preoccupied with stuff around organisation, mobilisation and actions. But I'm missing you. I found out though (thanks Aeris for the heads-up) that my creditcard had expired end march and thus that my account has been disabled. I tried several days to get my new creditcard accepted by LL, but no success (while it is activated and working). So, now I have opened a PayPal-account. But it took several days to get it verified, which I just have done, but now it also takes some days for the transaction from bankaccount to PayPal-account. In other words, I don't want to quit SL, I didn't cancel my account myself, I am trying hard to get back in and make sure that payments are done. I think when the PayPal account has money, things will be ok again. I hope to see you soon again, inworld. Smoke

Compared to what happened before .. the LL team reduction, the stepping down of M Linden as CEO and the mess at the birthday exhibion the last week was rather silent. Of course it is hard compete with all the mess and excitement but also allwos for some look back at what was going on. For example, the birthday exhibition went past without being that exciting as I bet the LLs wished it to be. It even was rather silent lacking any proper advertisment and form what I have seen .. going past large parts of the SL communites wihtout being noticed.

It is strange, how fast things can move from time to time. A few slow weeks, following by a large explosion of news and rumours that spread aorund the grid and beyond. Of course, that was suspected since the SL birthday exhibition is usualy the time for speaches and so shortly after the viewer 2 debacle, the reductions in the LL workforce and right in the middle of a 'the sky is falling around us' atmosphere it was almost certain, that something would happen.

Since tomorrow we will have our weekly discussion, and the topic will be the imminent script limits, I decided to pool together some information about the limits. I advise to also read the comments to the articles, ince they sometimes contain nuances or updated information...

Also, a remark of my own: keep in mind we currently also have script limits, but we only know when we hit the limit when the simulator crashes Wink

SL Abuse Report System and Appeal Process: proposed changes

Enhance the information included in the notification-email send by LL after acting on an abuse report-accusation.
Making this included information as specific as possible should help the accused party to file an informed appeal. Even though ToS article 2.6 contains the “for any reason or no reason”-clause, in light of not wanting to antagonize the possible falsely accused user/customer it seems reasonable to also state/include:

Vigilantes in Tight's secret database gets leaked and consequently popcorn is being had in large amounts.

You by now probably already heard about the leaking of Justice League Unlimited's (JLU) secret Brainiac database/wiki some two weeks ago, but for who hasn't, I will get some links in this post to read up.

JLU is a vigilante 'policing' group that has set as goal to rid the SL grid of "griefers" and does so by roaming the grid in superhero suits and abuse reporting their fingers off, as well as keeping a secret database with personal information, both SL and RL related, of tagged griefers and 'dangerous' groups (which got leaked).
